Tips on capturing video of your kids

Taking a good video on a digital camera is easy if you follow these simple tips:

Stay close to your kids so you can record their faces clearly. A good benchmark is to get close enough so the camera frames their head and shoulders, but not their feet.
Be aware of your lighting. Record outside in sunlight when possible, and if you're inside, make sure you're under a bright light so your video isn't dark. Don't have a light directly behind or to the side of your children, which might put their faces in shadow.
Record more than one video. It's easy enough to record several clips on a digital camera. Having multiple clips gives you more choices for that perfect video.
If you need to edit your video, try Microsoft's Movie Maker on Windows, or Apple's iMovie if you use a Mac.
